Piano and live electronics

I am working on a commission from the Manitoba Arts Council for pianist Megumi Masaki where I am exploring how to use artificial intelligence to make the computer learn how the piano is performed, and base its musical response on this.

My latest CD was released at the end of 2020. It features four of my compositions, including A Ghazal performed by soprano Sarah Jo Kirsch. You can find it on streaming sites such as Spotify, or buy the physical CD through Amazon.

Multimedia Installation

Sonic Trails : Lockdownwas first conceived as a sound installation, raising questions related to artificial intelligence, music and concrete vs. abstract beauty. The first exhibition of the multimedia version, created together with Max Sandred, was part of the 2021 Venice Biennale.

Percussion, live electronics and live video processing

My composition Mimétisme explores the interaction between performance, video and audio processing. It uses 15 contact microphones and 3 video cameras to capture the performance. The comission is supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, and is for the percussionists Jonny Axelsson (Sweden) and Victoria Sparks (Canada).

You will find many of my recordings at online streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, etc. Here are links to two albums (also available as CDs)
